I tried your solutions to fix my inability to send messages on Thunderbird, and they did not work, so what other help do you have to rectify the problem?

I can receive emails on Thunderbird but when I reply or try to send a new email, it shows up in my "send" box but never reaches the person(s) I sent it to.

Spectrum insists the problem is in Thunderbird, and my tech cannot fix the problem.

I had the same problem in Windows 10, but a one of their techs led me through the steps to fix the problem. It was complicated. Do you have someone who can do this for me? I've used Thunderbird for years and much prefer it.

What are your outgoing server settings? Tools/Account Settings, Outgoing Server (SMTP) at the bottom left pane should have mobile.charter.net on port 587, SSL/TLS security (not STARTTLS), authentication = normal password, User name = email address.

I could get everything into place except the SSL/TLS which insisted that it had to be STARTTLS.

If you first select SSL/TLS, the port will automatically choose 465, so just highlight the 465 and type in 587, then OK to save the changes. Of course, by now they may have changed their servers to use port 587 with STARTTLS security, but haven't updated the website instructions.
