How can I get "additional email" addresses in Address Book to behave like primary address?

I have an Address Book called Friends and a filter that moves messages from these friends into a "Friends" folder. Recently, I received a slew of emails with friends' phone IDs (eg ##########@LLLpix.com) in the "from" field instead of their normal email addresses . Thinking they were probably spam, I didn't even open them. Fortunately, my spouse did.

So, I added these "pix" addresses in the "additional email" field of their respective contact cards in the Friends address book, thinking the emails would now be filtered and identified by each person's name; however, neither the the filtering nor naming is working. Do I have to make a contact card for each separate address in order for everything to work?

Chosen solution

That is a limitation of the address book. If you find a more acceptable workaround please share it.
