authentication required pop ups accessing my modem/router

more options

Accessing my home modem/router causes a pop up asking for user name and password. Clicking "Cancel" make's it go away but reappear if I type "return" or go to another window. The modem /router from Telus works correctly. This is since the latest updates: Firefox 60.0.1. I am on Mac High Sierra 10.15.6. Extensions are Ublock Origin and NoScript.

Hi jean.peuplu

I am also in Canada and have a telus router so I should be able to help.

Please tell us:

1. what you did (in particular what ip address/url did you type into the url bar of firefox? How did you connect the router to your computer: did you connect over WiFi or via Ethernet? and any other details you can remember)

2. what you expected

3. what happened

In particular screenshots of what happened are always helpful as well as the text of any error messages

I've had my telus router for 14 years (well I received a new one about 2 years ago) and logged into very few times; maybe once a year so I don't even remember the IP address. It just works!

Cheers!

I type my Router address 192.168.1.254, connected with wifi to an Apple airport router. This worked well for more than a year, accessing my Telus modem-router without authentication. That is what I expect. I also set the Safari to accept the modem-router certificat when using https but this does not work either. Using Safari for the same access works without authentication.

This must be related to the security/privacy things in the new Firefox. (60.0.3) Thank you.
