Allowed Firefox to download latest update to Firefox on 11/18/18. When I started up Firefox on 11/19/18, my PC would not respond to any inputs (running Windows 7 Pro) and my only option was to power down my PC to recover from the Firefox update hangup. What can I do next to recover Firefox and my hundreds of bookmarks I stored under Firefox?

Have you tried starting Firefox to see if the problem is still there?

no, because Firefox might return to the update that caused my PC to freeze and power cycling a PC is not something I find a good thing to do.

Then if you don't attempt this then no one can really help.

a few days later, I closed all the applications on my PC that might be affected by a freeze that required a power down/up and then started up the Firefox browser. The browser began performing the update and it ended successfully.
