I followed the configuration setting instructions. Changed settings on my gmail account (as instructed). It won't finish configuration...

I'm pretty certain that it's my ISP not allowing whatever port. But I've no idea what they're allowing or filtering.

Did you enable access by 'less-secure apps' on the gmail website, and allow cookies for *.google.com in Tools/Options/Privacy? Also, select OAuth2 for authentication instead of autodetect.

I doubt your ISP is blocking mail ports, but you may have a security program that is interfering with secure ports.
