Error popped up when trying to send email to too many addresses (send to fewer or try again later). Email vanished--not in Draft or Sent folders

I just spent an hour typing a business email going out to 80 or so individuals (not realizing there is a limit to recipients for one email). Upon hitting send, an error message popped up in the processing, alerting me that my recipient list had exceeded gmail's limit, and to look into this and scale back, or to "try again later." I hit ("cancel" I believe it was) and both the error message AND email vanished. I do not see the email in the sent folder nor the draft folder. Was it deleted, or can it be found elsewhere? Please help!

try this addon https://freeshell.de//~kaosmos/index-en.html#recDelMsg

try the drafts folder as that is where auto saves occur. Clearly you will not see it in the send folder. It was not sent.
