Chosen solution

What operating system do you use ? Windows, MAC, Linux ????

Have you recently updated Thunderbird ? What version of Thunderbird are you using? In Thunderbird, 'Help' > 'About Thunderbird' will tell you this info.

Is this a POP or IMAP mail account ? Is it a Gmail mail account ? If no, what server are you connecting to eg: comcast, virgin media etc

Do you normally manually login each time you want to access the server or does Thunderbird usually do this automatically?

re :It is stated something failed what is the entire message word for word.

Can you logon to your webmail account and see emails ? If yes, let the forum know as this confirms you know the correct password and username.
