Chosen solution

Unfortunately, Mozilla does not officially release a portable version of Firefox. However, you can find a portable version that someone has repackaged on PortableApps.com, but it's not officially supported by Mozilla.

WARNING: Use caution when downloading Firefox from unofficial sources. You should only download Firefox from trusted sources.

The portable apps version is basically using the official build but repackaged with a custom launcher. It is also the only third-party project to be allowed to use the Firefox name and icon since its start.

The link I provided is to download the portable Firefox version from PortableApps.com - PortableApps says :

"For apps like Firefox, we have a specific licensing agreement in place with Mozilla allowing us to repackage it as Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition. "

Why are you telling me that as you only know that because I pointed that information out otherwise you would have posted that in your reply.

Anyways...

dmvallen, are you asking if there are officially made builds like the one from portable apps? or are you asking for .ZIP builds of Firefox Releases?.

If .zip then they have not been used for Firefox Releases since 1.0.2 as the Releases of this web browser before had. The reason was due to crashes caused by mixing the .zip and installer builds from people who thought that they had to install over previous in order to keep their settings like bookmarks, passwords and such. Yes Firefox Releases existed before 1.0.

My post is directed at the OP ....

I did not need your information, as I already knew - pointed it out to Wesley Branton in a PM long before you posted. The support forum is not a place to post personal remarks, directed at fellow contributors.

Hallo my Dear, hallo folks, we need an little support:

A few weeks ago my family and I were affected by a high risk of data loss and identity theft. We are always using portable installations PortableApps as is Firefoxportable and ThunderbirdPortable. After a long search, we accidentally found the cause: Both programs create a local profile in each foreign system. (% USERS% \% APPDATA% \ ... \ ...) That would not be bad. But: sensitive data, communication, caching, and more brand Firefox and Thunderbird for what they are: Spy-friendly installations, none of which is PORTABLE. Now I ask the community to help: How do you force Firefox AND Thunderbird ALL to save on the Protable Stick? How to Force Firefox AND Thunderbird to prevent personal data on HOST System like Windows spreading Data out like a rabid hyena. We had search for hints, but most people didnt interesting for a solution, it didnt any role, if they left many sensitive traces behind any host system. And Mozilla itself seems to be support any kind of SPYING me out but didnt help me to prevent identitx theft And Note: all these action are hidden, no notzes, no ersae afte leaving NOTHING to do tom handle my data carefully by Mozilla. May be there are many other Portables, which do same risks, but MOZILLA is most important we thinking...

OK, Mozilla pointed to lokal Installation, not portable. That means Mozilla and its Thunderbird is the highliest recommended risky Program to let foreigners stealing identity, passwordlist and other without permissions of user nor any kind of notification when leave the local system with a hughe amount of unsecured personal data.

I have a very bad impression of that

Hi luzzd, Wesley Branton's post was marked as the solution by the person who asked the original question (dmvallen). Your issue may have similar symptoms, but it is likely a different cause/solution.

If you need help using the portable version of Firefox provided by PortableApps, it's best to ask in their support forum at https://portableapps.com/forums/support/firefox_portable as they would know more about what customizations are made.

Because this thread is solved and more people might start using it for their own questions, I'm going to lock it.
