"Save selected messages" no longer working for pdf

I'm using Thunderbird to export some of my email messages to pdf, which was working fine in the past, but now I come to try and do it today, nothing happens. If I try to 'save selected messages' for any other file type but pdf, it seems to work, but I cannot get it to do anything for pdf (which is the one I need to save as).

I am running Import/Export tools but I do not know if that add-on was responsible for this functionality.

I noticed a few other people seem to have had this problem. Is there any fix for it?

The export to pdf is not working with ImportExportTools in TB 60, but W10 users can use the built-in 'Microsoft Print to PDF' printer. There are several free pdf printer drivers for other operating systems.

I installed Thunderbird to help me export large numbers of emails to pdf - I don't think the Microsoft Print to PDF function is much good for this purpose, and it seems like Thunderbird has mysteriously lost the only functionality I installed it for.

Is it worth trying to revert to a previous version, and which version would anyone recommend?

I believe the IET pdf export worked in TB 52:
