After the latest automatic update, Thunderbird will not load my profile anymore. It starts blank as if it was just installed and I did not have any accounts yet, asking me to create one. But my profile folder is still there in the Appdata Thunderbird folder. Did something go wrong in my profile folder during the update? If I switch profiles to a backup from a month ago it works, but obviously I would lose all the activity that happened since then. Any suggestions?

restate the profile location using the profile manager to create a "new" profile in the same old location.

Hello Matt, thank you for your help. Creating a "new" profile using the location of the old one did not help. Nevertheless I finally fixed my problem with replacing the "pref.js" file in my corrupted profile with the "pref.js" file of an older backup. And everything is back to normal. Thanks!
