When I log into FB on Android Firefox, the image compression is terrible. Chrome doesn't have this issue. I've got two side-by-side screenshots that prove to me I'm not making it up: the quality loss is stark.... Why is this happening? I just installed FF and would love to keep using it!

Hi

I have raised this issue with our developers who have been able to give me some background as to what is happening.

At Mozilla we are keen to protect users privacy and to give people the tools that enable them to do that. Facebook has configured their site to try to ascertain what device you are using so that it can serve high quality images. Firefox for Android does not leak that information and as a result is served lower quality images from Facebook.

Hi

Thank you for your question and the screenshots, I can see what you mean. Have you tried this in Firefox Preview (available from the Google Play Store)?
