Can't login to any websites since update
Hi all, Since a recent update, I can no longer log in to various web sites. The exact problem differs from site to site but ultimately Firefox just doesn't want to log in to sites. I also had an issue trying to create a Firefox login as the Firefox website told me to enable cookies even though they were already enabled; I'm currently using Safari.
Specific examples: Ebay: clicked "Sign In" button, entered username but Continue button remains greyed out. YouTube: clicking Sign In button does nothing. Hotmail: I can enter my username, then on the next page enter my password, but the next page is just the blue Outlook envelope. I have cleared the cache and restarted Firefox several times. Deleted cookies.sqlite file Disabled all Extensions

There was a similar problem a couple of months go where the user had to create a new profile to get things to work. They had way too many issues with that and it took days to get it fixed. And the problem was only on Ebay! So, consider yourself lucky!
Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you got things working again.

Hi chupacm, Have you tried Firefox in it's Safe Mode? Safe Mode temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes) that might be causing problems. See this article and try it, it may help find the source of the problem:
Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode#firefox:mac:fx70
Thanks for the reply =) I tried that and got the same result, with hotmail and Firefox at least. On YouTube the Sign In button actually takes me to the log in screen but after I enter my username the Next button doesn't do anything.
I'm going to reinstalling Firefox and see how that goes =)
OK, so I followed the reinstall instructions however, it seems the uninstall didn't work properly as when I reinstalled all my extensions, theme etc were still there and I didn't get a message to set Firefox to be my default browser. One of the suggestions was to Refresh Firefox. After a bit of digging, found that option and that fixed the issue. Now of course, Firefox is trying to pre-load all my bookmarks and triggering Little Snitch but I've dealt with that issue before ;-) Thanks for your help man =)

I try to browse safe. I use DuckDuckGo, Little Snitch, Disconnect, uBlock, HTTPS Everywhere and a password manager, plus ClamxAV runs a scan every day. Any other safety measures you'd recommend?
I'm enjoying Privacy Badger, Privacy Possum, AdBlocker Ultimate and Malwarebytes Browser Guard.
The one important recommendation is to be careful not to use too many extensions. You can find yourself in a situation where the redundancy turns into a battle. They begin fighting over who is going to block and, well, in the meantime... I like to think of protection in more of a layered approach. Malware, ads, cookies, etc.
Awesome, I'll check those out =) Is there a big advantage to AdBlock Ultimate over uBlock/other blockers?
I haven't spent much time with uBlock but, I saw that it affords more filters than AdBlock Ultimate. Which one's do you need, though?
Also, it's been in the news lately, some other blockers are admittedly selling whitelisting to advertisers. AdBlock Plus admitted it recently. AdBlocker Ultimate doesn't do that - or at least they don't admit to it or have been caught at it.
It won't hurt to check out the extensions thoroughly. Look up reviews and even visit their support forum to get a really good idea about the product.

Good advice man, thanks again =)
