Have a link to an xslx file that, when you click on it in Firefox, instead of giving option to open or save, displays page of garbage characters. The link works find in Chrome, IE, Safari, Edge. Excel doesn't appear under Options/Applications and there doesn't seem to be any way to add it. Seeing old posts exactly describing symptoms on earlier versions of Firefox and have tried deleting handlers.json and restarting Firefox to no avail.

Running Windows 10 Firefox 67.0 Office365

Any suggestions?

This is a server issue. Server sends this file as plain text instead of providing the correct MIME type.

In such a case you can right-click the link and use "Save Link As" to save the file instead of left-clicking the link.

You can check the HTTP response headers in the Network Monitor to see what content type is send.
