How can I get PDFs to open after clicking on them in Firefox Android?

When I click on a PDF, it downloads and then the screen transitions as if it is going to open the file in the default PDF viewer on my Google Pixel 2. However, the screen then instantly switches back to the Firefox page I just opened the PDF from.

Seems like a bug?

Does it work if you go into the downloads folder and click open there, rather than from the dropdown? I see that workaround here https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/e1hhch/android_firefox_pdf_wont_open_directly_only_from/

Do you have the link for the pdf that's not working? so I can try it and see if I run into the same thing, this might be worth submitting as a bug.
