HI previously set up mail redirect to gmail. Can not get rid of this feature. There is no mail redirect add on currently present. I want to uninstall thunderbird, not have mails redirected to g mail but still retain the option of looking up previous e mails if I need to

Thunderbird doesn't redirect messages. It's probably something you set up on your email provider's server. Login to your account via webmail and check your settings.

Thanks Christ1 that worked. If I now uninstall thunderbird will I still retain the ability in future to log in to my talk talk emails?

Thanks Keith

I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to achieve. If you mean to uninstall Thunderbird and then only log on to your account via webmail, then yes, that would work. Note, you'd then only have access to messages which are still stored on the server.
