Application Thunderbird 63.8.1 has suddenly stopped inserting a period and starting a new sentence with a capital when hitting the spacebar twice. I have double checked keyboard settings on my Mac Mojave 10.14.6 . I want it back! Restart in safe mode does not solve this. Please advise.

Is this some Apple thing? I have never had such a thing on windows.

Ohh googling shows me is was originally only for those glass keyboards and the windows typing on a sheet of glass stuff can do it as well.

This guy did not like the feature when it arrived with macOS Sierra. So perhaps you can use his tutorial to turn it back on on your apple product. https://www.idownloadblog.com/2016/12/19/how-to-stop-your-mac-from-inserting-a-period-when-you-double-press-the-space-bar/

I have tried reverse engineering this blog and have folllowed his lead. Every other application requiring text input behaves exactly as i wish. Only Thunderbird no longer works. Any other ideas?
