How do I do this? I don't want to change the icon everytime I drag a website shortcut to the desktop from firefox. How do I make it permanent?

The Firefox icon is bundled with the Firefox program. You can go about changing it with the Windows registry (this website outlines a lot of options).

However, it's usually best not to mess around with the Windows registry, especially if you don't know what you are doing.

The option I'd recommend instead is right-clicking on the shortcut and selecting Properties. In there, you can change the icon and even set your own custom ones.
