Firefox not displaying properly after upgrade to 73.0

Firefox was working fine after update to version 73.0. But the following day, Ubuntu made updates of javascript and webkit libs. Upon restart, Firefox was no longer displaying pages correctly.

Interactive pages have become almost unusable. It is very difficult to navigate and fill in forms because most buttons and fields have no borders. The screen is mostly blank with just text and a few bits with borders. It is difficult to see where to click or add text.

I've tried resetting, running in safe mode and running with a fresh profile. None make any difference.

Isn't it something about a high-contrast system theme?

Go to Options -> General -> Fonts & colors and press the Colors button. There should be Override the colors specified by the page with your selections above set to Never.

That solved it! Thank you. Yes, I was using a high-contrast desktop theme. I have been fiddling with desktop settings recently, though I have been using a high-contrast theme for many years.
