When I shut down Firefox and then relaunch the "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites" box is unchecked without action by me and then requires going back to preferences and rechecking the box in order to get autofill. How can I keep the Ask to save logins and passwords for websites block checked?

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Then reinstall the latest version.

Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

Make sure you install Firefox properly and aren't running Firefox from the DMG file.

Open the Firefox Disk Images file and drag the Firefox application to the Applications folder on your hard drive. You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the Disk Images, but instead drag it out of the DMG folder.

You may have to check whether you have multiple profiles and use the Profile Manager to cleanup unused profiles.
