Fierfox 76.0.1 upgrade

more options

When Firefox 76.0.1 installed on my computer several things happened. All my tampermonkey scripts were deleted, and I'm unable to reinstall them (normally by clicking on the link the install happens, now the contents of the script just displays on the screen) I have several Gmail accounts, and all but one work - what I mean is I can log into most of them, but one will not login and connect. Have tried rebooting the computer, restarting Firefox. Very strange. Would a remove and reinstall be the next step?

I have two other laptops, on one the upgrade was transparent, on the other, most of the tampermonkey scripts stayed - need to reinstall a few. And the Gmail account is accessible.

Don't know if the troubleshooting data appeared.

Didn't get any messages when I tried to log Gmail or CBS.com - it just showed the website in the URL bar, and nothing on the tab.. Tampermonkey was showing its presence, but I wasn't able to add any scripts for it.

Got tired of the situation so I regressed by computer to Firefox 75.0, sat there a while as it downloaded 76.0.1, which I allowed it to upgrade when I terminated and restarted Firefox. Everything, so far, is working as it is on my other computers.

Thanks for the assist - hopefully things will continue to work. Looks like the original upgrade encountered some problems.

Again, thanks don

Continuing the above post: Now, cannot load any Gmail account, can't even log into CBS.com Very frustrating. Thanks,

Hi Don, sorry to hear your update went sideways.

Before making any changes, could you let me know:

  • Did Tampermonkey get removed and need to be reinstalled? Or is the Tampermonkey icon there as always but just not working? Or is Tampermonkey enabled on the Add-ons page but its icon is nowhere to be found?
  • On Gmail: do you get a secure connection error or other message, or what happens when you try to log in? Is there any difference if you try in a private window (Ctrl+Shift+p)?
  • Similarly with CBS.com: do you get a secure connection error or other message, or what happens when you try to log in? Is there any difference if you try in a private window (Ctrl+Shift+p)?
  • Did you notice any other major changes such as: settings reverted to default, unable to save new bookmarks, etc.?
