I have been sending e-mail from this computer, using the same internet provider for many years. Then on June 23, I could no longer send. All smtp and server settings are unchanged and correct, I have tried turning off the fire-wall still cannot send. Am receiving the attached error message.

What's your antivirus app, and is the TB profile folder excluded from AV scanning? Using a VPN?

more options

Virus app is Windows Security don't know if the profile folder is being scanned or not. Do not have a VPN, but I am using a secure home network. latest error message is attached. Thanks

'Incorrect greeting' usually means the authentication method or password or other smtp setting is incorrect. What are your server settings? In Windows Security settings, add the TB profile folder as an Exclusion - although I don't think that is causing the error.

Telus smtp settings should be smtp.telus.net on port 465, SSL/TLS, authentication = normal password, User Name = email address.

I think that I have excluded the TB profile folder from AV scan. Other settings are as you recommend. still no luck Thanks

I was able to exclude the TB profile from AV scan, but still no effect. Still getting the message that connection to the SMTP server was lost. Thanks

What are your settings for Outgoing Server (SMTP)? Did you change the account password?

Outgoing server settings are exactly as you recommended: Telus smtp settings should be smtp.telus.net on port 465, SSL/TLS, authentication = normal password, User Name = email address.

Have not changed PW Thanks
