Hi ynotc, over the past 3 weeks, several Yahoo users have reported that Firefox can no longer open Yahoo as their home page at startup. Home button works, it works in a new window (Ctrl+n), just not at startup. There must be some common element here, but I haven't seen the explanation yet. It also affects some users who set their home page to Gmail.
Clearing Firefox's cache may help for one or two startups, but then reportedly it stops working. For reference: How to clear the Firefox cache.
A workaround some Yahoo users mention is if you shorten the Custom URL for Yahoo from the full one to just yahoo.com then Firefox is able to open it. This isn't the most logical workaround because Firefox has to do more work to redirect to the full address. ??

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site. (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
(2) Remove your yahoo .com cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these. While viewing a page on the site:
right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help
