I created html and javascript webpages on my PC many years ago. Firefox is my default browser, however, when I click on a html link on my PC only Internet Explorer opens. How do I get Firefox to open instead of Internet Explorer.

I tried...
  • <A HREF="firefox: https://www.countries-ofthe-world.com/TLD-list.html" target=_blank><font size="2" face="Verdana">Internet Country Abbreviations</font></A> But it doesn't work. Any ideas?

We think that Microsoft is doing something to cause this.

Where is the HTML code in which you click these links ?
Is that in an external application ?

You can only open a link from an external application in a specific browser if that browser is the default browser for this file extension.
You can check that in the Windows Registry in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.
