One of my extensions is „unavailable“ after the recent update

Some time ago, I installed the Web Archives extension on my phone. But today, after getting the new update, I noticed it was gone. When I went into the add-on settings, it said the extension was „unavailable“. This makes no sense to me; I remember it working great just a few days ago. It also still works on Windows and it is still in the extension store, so it really isn't „unavailable“ at all. Both closing as well as force-closing and then restarting Firefox hasn't helped. How can I fix this?

The new version of Firefox for Android is a complete rework of the application. Currently it only supports a limited set of extension, so that's why your extension does not work currently. Wider extension support can be expected in later releases.

So they rolled out an unfinished version – in my case, quite literally overnight –, which breaks important features, without any prior warning? That's very disappointing, to say the least. As unsatisfactory as it is, thank you for your answer. I now have two further questions:

  1. Do you know of any timeline for when this will be fixed?
  2. How can I go back to a working version in the meantime?

Thank you.
