Hello, I've always been an advocate of Firefox and Mozilla foundation in general as I though it was a glorious project and mindset. However in recent years, I've seen more and more things done to the Firefox ecosystem that makes me more and more suspecious against privacy and true reasons of the existence of Mozilla Foundation.

Few years ago major update to Firefox broke thousand of extension compatibility, Firefox sync removed from selfhosted solution to force people creating an account inside Mozilla cloud (privacy means that I have no more confident in the mozilla cloud than I have in the on owned by Google or Amazon), then Firefox started to look always more to Chrome in its UI, And recently adding VPN, password manager, Pocket (what is it for anyway ?) and more and more features that look to me as a commercial grade to me but without seeing anything close to a business model. I have no problem with the Mozilla Foundation trying to make money without selling personnal data and selling services. BUT recently those has been more and more present and I feel like Firefox is always incentivizing me to buy buy buy buy ! Finally the recent upgrade to Firefox Mobile is Great BUT once again bloated with useless proprietary features and broke once more every extension that were making firefox mobile such a game changer in the smartphone ecosystem. I've converted several friend to it because it was awesome, and now in pure browser experience it's way better (thank you for the bottom url bar blackberry passport got it right 6 years ago already) but if you remove in mean time all of what was making Firefox mobile special in the mobile ecosystem and adding always more bloatware features... then Firefox Mobile is not better than Chrome and there's no reason to use it appart from I like the way Mozilla is handling privacy stuff... Or am I ?

Mozilla foundation I know my message sounds like a rant at you and it might be. Making money to pay for developers OK, but just sell a bloatware less feature Firefox with just what makes firefox nice : privacy, ease of use and amazing extension all over the place ! I'll pay for it 2€ a month just to get ride of all the s**** you're trying to sell as useless services.

I still love Firefox as a product, but Mozilla Foundation you're on the wrong track it's not by making things shinny and looking awesome that you're going to gain the glory you once had.

Also stop firing people like that !

I know I'm not the only one to think like that, we might be few of us, but Firefox users are fewer everyday... So you might try to keep the users that were using Firefox for a reason in the first place and capitalize on it instead of messing with people by removing features to include your own proprietary one.

Hi,

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.
