Get in touch with Rediffmail's support and get the correct settings from them. I have searched for a definitive publication of settings and found several FAQ articles that DO NOT state the port number to use for (free) POP3 access. I see support articles that are very outdated and written for antiquated clients like Netscape, Outlook Express, Outlook 2003 and Eudora, with no mention of the correct port to use. I also see additional articles for enterprise/business POP3 access through port 110 and a different server name than the one you've entered in Tbird. Another enterprise article states port 995 for secure access (SSL), so it's an understatement for me to say I'm thoroughly lost as to which server settings you should use. Only Rediffmail can give you the answer. It's also not clear whether POP3 access is a business/pro/enterprise only facility or not, and according to one Rediffmail article, the "pro" plan gives you POP access, which implies it's a paid feature.

Again Thanking you Stans for doing so much researching.

But I have already contacted Rediff Customer Support before mozilla thunderbird support.

Kindly see attached images.

Try the following settings:

Protocol: POP3 Server name: pop.rediffmail.com Port: 995 SSL: SSL/TLS Authentication: Normal Password

SMTP port 586 (as per your exchange with Rediffmail support). Note that this is different from the common port 587, which is what you had in your account setup screenshot. The SSL and Authentication settings above apply for SMTP as well.

Hello Stans,

I have tried all possible combinations but still getting same errors. Kindly suggest what to do now?

There are no combinations to try, only those indicated in my previous post together with those provided by Rediffmail support. Let's see a screenshot of what you've entered.

SSL and authentication settings don't match!

Those settings should now work. Make sure you can actually log in to rediffmail via webmail using that password. If that is the case, you need to get back in touch with rediffmail. As far as Thunderbird-specific settings go, those are correct (i.e Normal Password authentication with SSL/TLS security).
