How do I prevent Firefox from loading each page twice when using containers?

This occurs with: Facebook Container Personal Container Work Container Banking Container Shopping Container

The problem has remained consistent through several Firefox updates, a clean remove and reinstall of Firefox, and even a reinstall of Windows 10 to try and correct it.

This is likely a problems with an extension. I also see Firefox Multi-Account Containers in the System Details list.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
