Over the past week I've been having issues with my business's thunderbird email account. Emails come into the thunderbird account, I can read them, delete them, archive them, but can not reply to emails or send a new message without a number of different error messages including this one:

An error occurred while sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: +OK Fenix ready..

I also often get prompted with a message asking to verify the passwords on the account however we do not have any passwords in place.

As the business manager my personal gmail account is also linked to the business's thunderbird account so I can view incoming emails from home. Would that have any link to these problems?

Thoughts? What do I need to change in the settings to reverse these problems? Everything was running perfectly until two weeks ago. These error messages started appearing randomly without me changing anything in the account settings.

I had some issues too after I had updated to vers 78.2.2 and I have opted to downgrade to old version (68...). You might do the same - if you want to do this you can read the details I've mentioned here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1304483#answer-1350192

'Incorrect greeting' usually means the settings or authentication method are wrong. What are the settings in Tools/Account Settings, Outgoing Server (SMTP) at the bottom of the left pane? You would only not require a password if the smtp server settings are connection security = none and authentication = no authentication, which is very uncommon in 2020.
