I can not remove 1.1MB from "Cached Web Content", no matter what I do. It's in linux, so less likely to have a bug. Could anyone make a suggestion please. I might need to look under the hood.

Do you see items listed on the about:cache page ?

Note that data stored in the cache2 folder includes a lot of meta data like the headers and security/certificate data and that about:cache shows the data size of the cached item.

Firefox may also store OCSP responses and other data used internally.

Did you check the profile location for the disk cache for what items are left after clearing the cache ?

You can find a button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page for Local Directory.
