Mozilla sees all my email settings, confirms they are correct. But I no longer have the correct password; either I inadvertently changed it, or it got messed up somehow.

How do I go about getting a new password that will allow me access back into my email?

It won't do me any good if you EMAIL me an answer as I won't be able to get to it.

If there is no way to do this, how can I totally delete the existing email account and reopen it with a new password

There is no such thing as a "Thunderbird account". You've set up an account with an email provider, e.g. Gmail or Yahoo. You'll need to check with your email provider for password recovery options.

This is a web forum. You don't need email in order to see a response to your question.
