Hi, first of thanks for reading and possibly responding.

The issue I am having has been going on for a few days. In websites where youtube video's are embedded if I try and play the video on the said site it will load and display an error message An error occurred. Please try again later. If I visit the video on youtube, link provided in the video itself, then it plays just fine. Error is not restricted to one site but anything that embeds youtube videos.

I have also come across some strange youtube.com issues, when I am on the main website you get the thumbnails of video's but no time duration are displayed in the thumbnail, neither are the 3 dots where you can have one of the videos removed (not a big deal and maybe this was implemented a while ago I don't know tbh). When I play a video, as in visit the video page on youtube the side bar videos sometimes do and sometimes don't display time duration.

Please check attached image to see what I mean. Left is without said timecodes, right is what it almost should be.

What addons do I use: Ublock Origin is the only one worth noting but even without it the weird thing still occurs. I don't use any plug ins that correspond with youtube.

I am using the latest Firefox on Windows 10.

Things I have tried thus far to resolve it: - make sure Firefox is up to date - try with and without addblocker (Ublock) - remove Adobe flash entirely - refresh Firefox and clear all data and cookies 9tried this I think 3 times now, no change) - looked through older posts with similar issues but most links regarding html5 on youtube were 404 and sometimes the solution stated things like 'cause by some video helped addon' which I do not use or updating Flash

Am I the only one with this issue?

I think I have resolved it strangely enough. If I sign out on both accounts, if I sign into the youtube related gmail first and primary email second then the probleem seems to be resolved. Embedded still seems playable and no 403 error when pressing manage account.

Previously after resetting everything I would sign in with my primary email first and youtube related second and then switch over.

Timecodes still go not show but at least embedded videos play now.

Just curious... Do the same steps work in Chrome?

In Chrome the issue also happens it seems. Likewise I can turn it on and off.

Doesn't exactly resolve the problem though, does it?

You found the cause. The solution is to see what is different between those accounts.

I've been having the same error playing embedded videos this past week. To get the videos to play, I have to switch accounts within YouTube to my default account and then retry the video. As a YouTuber who needs to stay logged into my channel instead of my default generic email address YouTube account, this will be what causes me to stop using FireFox after nearly TWO decades and switch to Chrome (gasp!). I sincerely hope this gets fixed within the coming weeks before my patience wears thin.  :(

I've been having the same problem, and tearing my hair out since a couple of days to try and solve it. Thanks to your posts I now know that it is related to the account I'm signed into YouTube with: if I am signed in in YouTube with my YouTube dedicated account (not used very often) I have the issue, video won't play on our site. Change to my other (primary) account in YouTube and reload the tab of the site with the embedded video : the video plays normally. I have no time to further investigate, but at least I know our customers are not likely to run into this problem, and if they do, I have a solution for them. Many thanks WaffleToaster for your help!

I wanted to add that yesterday it seems that Google resolved the youtube issue on their site, no longer is this issue displaying when I visit the website. So cheers the problem, at least for me, seems to be fully resolved.
