Hello there hikarumoon2001 We have read your message. We try to help you.

Do you see some pop ups with messages? Please send me.

It looks like that starting up in safe modus for Thunderbird did not work for you. It might be something else.

Let me look in Thunderbird for you.

Close down computer - wait - then restart computer. Start Thunderbird in Safe Mode by holding down the 'Shift' key while starting the application.

Hello there again

It could be that your servers are slow and your internet connection can also converge.

Maybe useful to uninstall everything on your computer machine and put everything back on it, including completely erasing your Thunderbird.exe files. To set up a new installation again.

Your data will be retained when you reinstall it.

Also a good antivirus and firewall could create such confrontations. Look a bit what hinders it?

Hello there again.

If possible try to boot the system you are controlling the computer with in safe mode and immediately afterwards start the Thunderbird.exe file also in Safe mode for Thunderbird.

If this doesn't solve a problem for this topic, it will be something different outside of your operating system and / or Thunderbird Software. More like the hardware or other software inside your computer machines. The security software could be a option for the error.

Sounds like there is still a problem with those settings then, no?

Please state the name of your AV software and the settings you have changed. Screen shots would be even better.

Version 78.9.1 32-bit Windows 10 Defender

I get it mostly when composing a new mail. Waiting for a couple of minutes resolves this as a rule. But it definitely sucks.

Also, maybe correlated: I get an error message when the first save operation is triggered. It says the folder does not exist. Cancelling that dialog and saving manually resolves this. It does not freeze then, though.

Well I started getting this happening to me witn Windows 10. I guess it's a free program and you get what you pay for!

No one seems figure what the problem is.

I started switch back to windows mail, which I hate. But what choice do I have when Thunderbird freezes up like a frozen Thanksgiving turkey?

At least you had people respond to your post!
