Why is the search on the start page working inadequate?!

The search bar is displayed on the home page. And you can even put a cursor in it. However, as soon as you start typing something, the cursor shuffles into the address bar and the text is entered there!

This is absolutely schizoid behavior! The worst UI is simply impossible to imagine!

YES, I KNOW I CAN USE THE ADDRESS BAR AS A SEARCH BUT I DON'T WANT!

Why didn't you give users any choice? Don't you care about your own users? This is absurdly allogical behavior of the interface! What fool could have thought of such a thing ?!

Besides the fact that it is corny inconvenient, there is another extremely important disadvantage. Users suffering from cataracts put a dark theme for a reason - they otherwise see badly.

So what happens when the user has a dark theme and the start page displays a huge whitelist at the top of the screen as they enter text, what do you think? I can tell you - a user with poor eyesight is blinded for a second.

Guys, when will you start thinking before changing the browser for the worse? Seriously, Firefox has lost its entire user base over the past few years. This is very disappointing.

On Windows 10, it is not white but dark.

Which dark theme is that? On Windows 10, Firefox's built-in Dark theme has a dark address bar and address bar autocomplete drop-down.

You are cool guys, but what, in your beautiful world, Windows 7 no longer exists?

And besides, your highly intelligent remark does not solve the problem of disgusting UI in any way.

I was asking whether you use the built-in dark theme and you did not reply to my question. Are you using the built-in dark theme or a different dark theme? The built-in dark theme should have a dark address bar and drop-down.

What disgusting UI are you referring to? To change the search bar behavior, please refer to the link in the first reply. Was there something else you wanted to change?

Yes, you are right, here I was in a hurry. This solves my problem, sorry.

Although I still do not understand to whom and how the idea came to change the behavior of the search bar...

As you can understand from what I wrote, I use Windows 7. There is no adequate support for the dark theme out of the box, as a result, the "dark theme" in the browser is implemented by adding a dark theme to the extensions \ themes and installing the DarkReader extension. Unfortunately, the entire interface cannot be repainted.

It is very strange to make this behavior of the search by default. I hope they will take this setting somewhere in the menu at least.
