After updating from 89.0.2 to 90.0.2, FireFox browser cannot open ANY webpage on Mac (shows only blank page)
After updating from 89.0.2 to 90.0.2, FireFox browser cannot open ANY webpage. Occurs on a 2017 iMac both in OSX 10.14.6 and also OSX 11.4 after upgrade. (Also, “Checking for updates…” in “About Firefox” never connects, just spins.) No additional security apps, firewalls, VPNs, etc. are running.
Have tried REFRESH and other troubleshooting Mozilla troubleshooting protocols. No problems with all other browsers (Safari, Chrome, Seamonkey).

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
- Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
- Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see
Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}
You can check the connection settings.
- Settings -> General -> Network: Connection -> Settings
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.
See "Firefox connection settings":
(sorry for the previous answer, missed you are on Mac)
Switching to “No Proxy” allows me to update Firefox and open most website pages. There are still pages, especially login in pages, that still come up blank. So your suggestion somewhat solved the problem. Other respondents’ answers didn’t work or apply since it is a Mac.
Make sure you are not blocking content.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
