After updating to firefox 91, the option to disable proton is removed and now it's not able to turn it off. Proton looks good in some aspects, but I want the seperator between tabs back.

I keep hundreds of tabs in one firefox window and use some of them daily, without the seperator to show the boundary of tab I have to move my mouse carefully to click the correct tab I want, which is disturbing. The ability to work with hundreds of tabs is the reason I use firefox, the designers of proton seem not to have this in mind. Is it possible to offer at least an option to bring the seperator back?

You need to use a file userChrome.css for that. Here is a link that, hopefully, won't be moderated. On the second page mentioned there you need the section labelled "restyling tab buttons ...". https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1346582#answer-1434487
