Mail server pop.verizon.net responded: [SYS/TEMP] Server error - Please try again later.

This is the error I am getting one of my profiles in thunderbird trying to access via laptop PC. Started 12/17/21. I have two profiles both the exact same settings: verizon.net through aol both are set as pop accts (I have checked all server settings and they are all set correctly) The only difference between the two profile/accts is that the one getting the error, I access in multiple locations (laptop and iphone using aol mail app)

Breakdown: Acct# 1 setup on pc laptop using thunderbird only. Acct#1 is working just fine.

Acct# 2 is setup on pc laptop and iphone using AOL app. Both are same pop.verizon.net settings. Working fine on the Iphone (can/send and receive). Acct#2 is getting error when trying to access on laptop PC using Thunderbird - upon open thunderbird asks for password and then takes several mins only to return the error above. I have reset the password for Acct# 2. Acct#2 can be accessed by aol.com web interface and is working on iphone using the mail app just fine. The only place I am getting error is on laptop pc using Thunderbird.

Full error: Sending of password for user {edited for privacy} did not succeed. Mail server pop.verizon.net responded: [SYS/TEMP] Server error - Please try again later.

Then I get: connection error timed out

Thunderbird release being used: 91.4.0 (32-bit)

Operating system: Windows 10 PC
