Thunderbird will not allow me to send mail. See the attached error message. I am going back to using my Optimum email web page for email. Thunderbird is just useless in the face of such an all encompassing error, and I am really not in the mood to screw around with it. Thanks, but no thanks.

The error says the authentication setting in TB is incorrect. Optimum recommends these settings:

mail.optimum.net on port 465, SSL/TLS security, authentication = normal password, User Name = part of address before @.

Tools/Account Settings, Outgoing Server (SMTP) at the bottom of the left pane.
