I have one gmail mail account. I also have another email address on a different mail server that forwards to that gmail account. I want the option of originating mail (new or reply) with that other email address. That much is easy, I just add another identity to the gmail account. However, I want that alternate address to use a different smtp server. I don't see with just one gmail account how to give a different smtp server to the second identity.

I'm running 91.5.0 on Linux.

Are you asking a question, or did my response answer your issue? The settings for each will be identical except for email id.

Create the second gmail account normally. Then, click tools>accountsettings and scroll to bottom of left side bar where Outgoing Server is. In right pane click ADD to create the second smtp server. Then, click the newaccount name in left side bar, still within Tools>Accountsettings and in right pane click the SMTP server drop-down menu and select the new smtpgmail server.

I was guessing that would be the answer. It seems awkward, I want everything the same for the second identity except the smtp server, and I imagine I can accidentally set some option differently.
