E-mails sent from virgin.net account also being sent from g-mail account
When I send an e-mail from my virgin.net account it is sent again from a g-mail account, so the recipient gets it twice. I can't see anything in settings that can explain this.

Just because you have composed an email with virgin email address in the 'FROM', it does not mean you are actually sending using the virgin smtp for same email address.
It is entirely possible you are doing the following: Compose email using virgin email in FROM and send Copy of email is put into virgin sent folder as per settings. However, virgin mail account is actually sending using the gmail address, so gmail auto put a copy in the gmail account sent mail folder.
Check account settings:
- Right click on virgin account name folder in folder pane and select 'Settings'
It open 'Account Settings' and it shows the virgin account is selected. But first you need to know what is available in the Outgoing Server list.
- In Left Pane - at the bottom below the 'Local Folders' account - click on 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)'
This opens to show full list of smtp servers you have set up listed on the right. If there is a virgin one listed - select it to see info. The 'username' will be same virgin email address as the account. Click on 'Edit' In the 'Description' field type the same email address as you see in the 'User Name' Click on OK.
If there is no virgin smtp in list then you need to create one -click on 'Add' Enter all the correct server settings which virgin state you should be using. Enter 'Description' and 'User Name' as full virgin email address. SMTP server name: smtp.virginmedia.com Port: 465 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication Method: Normal Password Click on OK
Now make sure the virgin account is using that smtp server.
So in left pane select name of virgin account.
Look bottom right to see what outgoing smtp server is selected.
Click on the drop down to see the virgin email address - this is where the 'Description' field now helps.
Example images below as a guide. Showing what to click on and where. It also shows how whatever is written in 'Description' helps to id the server.
Then restart Thyunderbird to ensure it is using those settings.

Sorry, mine is a different problem - the duplicate sent e-mail is from a different account. The settings only say to place the messages in the virgin.net sent e-mails folder.
