I have two email accounts. On the first one I cannot send or receive emails. I get message "login in to server imap.telstra.com with username *******@bigpond.net.au failed."

On the second I am receiving and sending emails but it is not saving my sent emails.

Any suggestions?

Changing your password might work, it has worked for some, so try it. Sign in to your account via a browser and change your password, then replace Thunderbird's copy with the new password once you've confirmed that you can sign in to webmail using the new password.

Check in Preferences > Saved Passwords that Thunderbird has the right password for that account. If it does, make sure you can use the same password to log in to webmail.

I changed the password and it has fixed one of the email accounts. now the other one is problematic. If I go into Account settings then Server Settings it shows I have an IMAP server type but when I go into Preferences to check the passwords are correct it shows the email account as having a smtp but no IMAP. Any ideas??
