Office 365 - Configuration could not be verified.  If your username and password are correct, it's likely that the server administrator has disabled the selected configuration for your account.  Try selecting another protocol.

Hi,

I've been using Office 365 on Thunderbird (IMAP) for years without problems, and have the MFA disabled and then yesterday out of the blue when I opened Thunderbird, It kept saying password is incorrect for the 2 accounts I have, and everything is correct actually.

I removed the accounts and when I added them back again, I got the below message:

Configuration could not be verified.  If your username and password are correct, it's likely that the server administrator has disabled the selected configuration for your account.  Try selecting another protocol.

I don't want to use a third party add on Thunderbird to use Exchange in configuration, how can I fix this issue to keep using Thunderbird with IMAP?

Thank you

If your provider has disabled IMAP for you, then your choice is an addon or a web page or a more technical solution of the IMAP emulatior like davmail. http://davmail.sourceforge.net/
