Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed deleting exceptions
I've enabled 'Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed' to delete the cookies and site data when I close Firefox, but I would like to add some exceptions (mostly mail site). Every time I add the exception through Manage Exceptions... button and then I close Firefox, when I restart Firefox, the exception is gone. Is this expected? I don't think so. If so, it's not clear in the UI, as the button is just next to the mentioned checkbox.

It seems that enabling Site Settings at 'Clear history when Firefox closes' Settings was the issue. Thanks!
You can check that you aren't clearing important cookies.
- using "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" keeps cookies with an allow exception (toggling this setting makes changes to the "Clear history when Firefox closes" settings in 102+ versions and these settings prevail)
- using "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear cookies in Firefox 102+ honors exceptions (earlier versions removed all cookies)
Make sure to keep the "Site settings".
- clearing the "Site settings" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exceptions for passwords and other website specific data
