Hi folks. Yesterday my Tbird was working perfectly. then in the afternoon it stopped and ask me for a password. Tried all my passwords that I had for Tbird , Firefox and the Arris modem. I have tried reinstalling Tbird twice today and it returns me to my existing account. As suggested on this website, I was not able to find "Preferences" on the drop down menu on the upper left. I would be most grateful to be able to use the automatic set up and creating a new password. Thank Very Much, Tom Adams tnaa9@comcast.net. 616 334 2342

In order to change the account password you need to log on to your account via webmail, and change it on the server. You cannot change it via Thunderbird. After changing the password on the server you should delete any account password Thunderbird has remembered. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/password-manager-remember-delete-change-tb

Then restart Thunderbird. It will prompt you for the new password when needed.
