Awesome Screenshot add-on and Add-ons Security
Hello,
My Apple ID got compromised - someone logged in to my Apple online store account, placed an order with the credit card associated with the account, and actually picked up the order in an Apple store.
An Apple remote adviser has spent a considerable amount of time with me over the phone trying to identify how my Apple account was possibly compromised. Going through the Apps and browser add-ons on my computer (MacOS Ventura) , he concluded that likely, my Apple password was stolen through the Awesome Screenshot Firefox browser add-on.
I would like to ask your opinion whether you think it is possible that this would be the case.
Further info
- I haven't actually used the given add-on for long time
- I have an active ESET firewall on my computer. After the incident, I ran a full scan, and the firewall didn't find anything.

Firefox forum users have nothing related to Addon issues. That is up to the Addon developer to respond to your issues. Firefox Addon site only host Addons - if there is issue you need to contact the Developer of the Addon.

What was his proof or logic for concluding it was likely due to this extension?
The reviews for the Awesome Screenshot & Screen Recorder extension does not give any indications of such claim, though it appears you need an account for video recording. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/screenshot-capture-annotate/reviews/
Maybe check the email you use with your Apple ID at https://monitor.firefox.com/ to see if it may have been part of a site breach or such in last while.
