How do I add a new Default Search Engine?
I'm a long-time Chrome user giving Firefox a try. In Chrome I can use a URL with parameters to create a new Default Search Engine. I used to be able to do this in Firefox many years ago. But I can not figure out how to do this today in Firefox. Is it still possible in Firefox? How do I do it?
Firefox is proving to be a frustrating experience when coming from Chrome (any solutions to these problems?): -no ability to add new Default Search Engine -no ability to easily manage profiles and identify visually which profile user is in -bookmarks manager opening in a separate window instead of a new tab

Did you do a search for Firefox search engine? If so that would at least show how to do a search engine change configuration.

The easiest way to install a custom search engine URL with an icon is with mycroftproject.com.
If you don't care about icons, you can expose a button to add search engines by going to about:config and changing browser.urlbar.update2.engineAliasRefresh to true.
