I have both the standard address window, and a separate search window. When I type a www.XXX.com into the ADDRESS window, I expect to go there. Instead, I get a google search! WTF?!

Chosen solution

Addresses should be visited instead of searched. Make sure there are no typos in the address and the first suggestion is "Visit" instead of "Search" before pressing Enter. You can disable searching in the address bar by going to about:config and changing keyword.enabled to false.
