Upgrading to 115.2.0 from 102.15.0
In 102.15.0, it is now showing "Update to 115.2.0". When I go to the release notes though, it ways that there is no upgrade yet.
Has anyone done the upgrade from 102 to 115?
I'm hesitant to do it as it sounds like there are a number of bugs but also am excited to see the new version.
When would you take the leap? If it does have significant issues, what would need to be done to go back to 102?
Thanks, :) Scott

The developers have postponed offering updates from 102 to 115 for quite some time, and they now regard the update as a safe and smooth transition for most users. But if you're uneasy about it, the best way to do this is to go to the link below and click the Download link(s) and install Thunderbird 115 to a different folder (not the same one as your 102 files are in). Then you can set up and try 115 to your heart's content, and if you are happy with it, you can uninstall 102 without affecting your 115 installation. If you're not happy, you can uninstall 115, and 102 will still be there waiting for you.
So nothing with 115 changes the profile files such that it cannot continue to be used with 102? Does that mean you can use 115 and 102 both against the same profile at different times? Thanks!
Wizewiz is correct, but installing two versions can be tricky. 115 is still emerging, and features are being added or restored with each new release. If stability is paramount for you, then staying with 102 for now may work best, but if you want to enjoy the new system (which I encourage), then you should consider the upgrade. I encourage a full profile backup so, if you are dissatisfied, you can reinstall 102. If you are nervous on upgrading, then I suggest you try the portable version at https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/thunderbird_portable, which can be used in parallel with your 102 version (but you would need to copy the profile to the portable version after installation).
