Make "Show results as list" as the default after search or is there a possibility to have a quick filter field where ALL messages can be filtered?
I think it's about 20 years that I've been using Thunderbird. It is still the best email client i.m.o. But what still hasn't changed is the search. I find the search anything but good. I would like to have a quick filter field where ALL messages can be filtered (searched).
I have been using Mailstore Home to search messages in Thunderbird for years.
A solution would already be if "show results as list" would be the default after search. I was hoping that would be possible in Supernova but nothing has changed regarding searching. Is there a way to make "Show results as list" as the default in TB 115?

I don't know what to do with this link.
Search as a list extension is not updated and does not work with TB 115.
gloda.list.immediate = 2 only works in Betterbird, not in Thunderbird.
Any idea?
The link in my last reply gives the current state: the add-on hasn't been updated, and there's no prospect of the option to be added in a future release.
Ok. Thanks.
I really don't understand why Thunderbird doesn't plan a better Search, after so many years of its existence. (I've been using it myself for almost 20 years now) Don't people just want a search box (or filter box, whatever you call it) where all messages are filtered and where you can also search individually by "from, to, subject and body"? Something like "Everything Search"
It's only the Global Search - searches all accounts and all folders selected ok for a global search which performs an initial search and then you choose to refine using additional filters and finally select to see "Show results as list"
The Quick Filter Bar search option shows filtered in same folder Mesasge List, but is only searched within folder.
There is also 'Search Messages' which is auto in a list format. This can search on a per folder or mail account basis. Results can also be saved as a folder, which can be modified via Properties to include any specific or all folders in any or all accounts.
- Via Menu app icon > 'Menu icon' > 'Tools' > 'Search Messages'
- Via 'Menu Bar' toolbar > 'Edit' > 'Find' > 'Search Messages'
- Via keyboard use shortcut keys : Ctrl+Shift+F
Thank you. Yes I know.
What I would like to see is a "Quick Search" bar option searching within all e-mails (like everything search does for files, or MailStore home does for emails).
