I have ALL "auto updates " off on every device, app, and ptogram. Despite having auto update OFF on Firefox, it downloaded and installed an update without my knowledge, permission, or consent. I thought Mozilla was big on "choice" and "privacy"......this is neither!

Firefox needs to be regularly updated to keep you safe and secure online, if you want fewer changes you can install the ESR version (115).

I'm not a big believer in "update constantly for 'your safety'" line of bs. I've used a browser with no updates for over 7 years with no problems. The entire point in choosing Firefox was for ME to be in control of MY device. WHY provide the ILLUSION of choice when there is no actual choice? In "settings" you are told you can turn OFF automatic updates, and ensure there are no updates without permission. Sadly, this appears to be just another lie.

Your system can be silently compromised without you knowing it by this long list of security vulnerabilities if you remain unpatched.

The setting "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" does not imply that updates will be disabled or delayed indefinitely.

That's fine, I can block it through registry. Just thought as they pirate about privacy and control there should be - you know, like they used to have- the option of turning off automatic updates.
