Firefox vs google

I switched from google/Duckduckgo to Firefox/Duckduckgo because google has no respect for anyone's privacy and their search results have become pretty much useless. Now, I'm getting the same crappy, irrelevant search results in Firefox w/Duckduckgo that I get in google. Has google, in their unquenchable greed and constant quest for power, managed to somehow corrupt Firefox and Duckduckgo so that they can't get intelligent, relevant answers, either?

I think DuckDuckGo sources its results from Bing and Google (depending on the query), but you could ask them for tips on how to improve the results on their site.

(It's possible that DDG delivers different results in different browsers, but I haven't compared.)
